Online broker IC Markets has secured an RB Leipzig sleeve partner agreement that runs through the 2027/28 season, placing the firm’s logo on the left sleeve of the Bundesliga club’s men’s first-team shirts across all competitions, including the UEFA Champions League.
The two-season deal, covering 2026/27 and 2027/28, makes IC an Exclusive Partner and the club’s official online trading partner with global category exclusivity. According to the RB Leipzig official announcement, the partnership carries IC’s brand tagline ‘Your Trading Edge’ on club materials.
What the RB Leipzig Sleeve Partner Deal Actually Covers
Shirt sleeve placement is the headline element, but the agreement goes further. IC’s branding will appear on CamCarpets (the pitch-side camera-facing carpet panels used for LED-style advertising) and LED boards inside the stadium, and the two parties plan player activations alongside digital marketing campaigns.
IC provides access to cash equities (shares bought and sold at their current market price) and contracts for difference (CFDs), which are derivatives that let traders speculate on price movements without owning the underlying asset. Both the company and the club describe this initial two-season arrangement as the foundation for a broader strategic relationship.
Kleanthis Rousakis, Executive Director of IC Markets (EU) Ltd, said the company was ‘delighted to become part of the RB Leipzig family.’ He added that IC aims to provide clients with a ‘transparent, technology-driven and high-performance environment’ to access international financial markets, while making financial knowledge more accessible and encouraging responsible investing.
Planned activities include interactive fan campaigns, exclusive digital content and financial education initiatives covering market topics and responsible trading.
IC’s Return to German Football After a Five-Year Gap
The RB Leipzig deal marks IC’s return to German football sponsorship. In 2021, trading then under the IC Markets brand, the broker signed agreements with six Bundesliga clubs simultaneously: Bayer 04 Leverkusen, Hertha BSC, FC Augsburg, DSC Arminia Bielefeld, Greuther Fürth, and VfL Bochum, according to a Business Wire announcement from that round of deals.
The current deal lifts the ambition considerably. A multi-club broadcast-exposure play in the second division and mid-table Bundesliga is a different proposition from a sleeve partnership with a club that competes regularly in the Champions League group stages. RB Leipzig’s European profile gives the IC brand visibility across multiple markets simultaneously, which aligns with the firm’s stated objective of growing awareness in Germany and internationally.
The Leipzig deal also fits a broader pattern of sports marketing investment IC has pursued this year. The firm has signed sponsorship agreements with the Haas Formula 1 team, Australian tennis player Alexei Popyrin, and Mexican goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa as part of what the company describes as an international brand strategy.
The Regulated Entity Behind the Branding
For retail investors assessing any broker’s credibility, regulatory standing matters. IC Markets (EU) Ltd holds a Cyprus Investment Firm (CIF) licence, number 362/18, granted by the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission on 25 June 2018, according to the firm’s own Pillar III Disclosure Report 2024. The company was incorporated on 15 June 2016, roughly two years before the CySEC authorisation was granted.
A CIF licence means the entity is regulated under EU financial services rules, with passporting rights that allow it to offer services across European Economic Area member states. That matters if you are a UK or European retail investor considering opening an account, because it determines which compensation scheme and conduct rules apply to your money.
IC’s use of a high-profile football platform to drive brand awareness is a well-worn playbook for retail brokers targeting new clients in competitive markets. The question for the company is whether sleeve exposure on a Champions League club converts curiosity into funded accounts at a rate that justifies the sponsorship cost, which neither party has disclosed.
The partnership begins with the 2026/27 Bundesliga season. If the relationship develops as both parties have suggested, an extension beyond 2028 would be the clearest signal that the commercial bet has paid off.
