VitrA Tiles has officially inaugurated its solar power plant in Aksaray, further strengthening its dedication to sustainability.

As an integral part of the Eczacıbaşı Group, VitrA Tiles is making significant progress in achieving its renewable energy objectives. The completion of the Aksaray Solar Power Plant (SPP) marks a major milestone in the company’s strategy to shift towards greener energy sources. This project follows the 3.5 MW rooftop solar plant in Bozüyük, which was commissioned in 2023. With a 30 MWe/36 MWp capacity, the new Aksaray facility will ensure that over half of the electricity used in its Turkish operations this year will come from renewable sources.

Leading the Way in Sustainability

The newly established power plant will contribute significantly to VitrA Tiles’ renewable energy efforts, generating enough power to supply approximately 19,700 households annually. The facility, which houses 65,520 PV modules with a 550 Wp capacity each, is expected to cut carbon emissions by 37,190 tonnes per year.

VitrA Tiles CEO Mert Karasu reaffirmed the company’s commitment to sustainability, stating: “We aim to produce half of our electricity consumption from our own renewable energy facilities by 2025 and all of it by 2030 and thanks to this investment, we are one step closer to our global goals by further reducing our carbon footprint. We are committed to meeting all our electricity needs from renewable sources in the future.”

Work on the Aksaray SPP began in April 2024, with electricity generation commencing in February 2025 after the completion of PV module installation, cabling, inverter setup, transformer integration, and power transmission line construction. This investment brings both environmental and economic benefits, positioning VitrA Tiles as a leader in sustainable energy within the sector.
