Karaca, a well-respected brand with a 50-year legacy, has launched its second UK store in Westfield London, the largest shopping mall in Europe, following the successful establishment of its first outlet in Islington Square, a renowned shopping district in the UK capital.

Celebrating a rich 50-year heritage in the Turkish home and lifestyle sector, Karaca is excited to unveil its second UK establishment in Westfield London, Europe’s most extensive shopping centre. This development is a pivotal element in Karaca’s international growth strategy, succeeding its initial venture in London’s Islington Square.

Since its inception in 1973, Karaca has emerged as a beloved brand in Türkiye, famed for its extensive range of over 28,000 products. The brand has transformed the home and lifestyle market with its innovative and superior quality products, encompassing everything from essential kitchenware and elegant tableware to compact household appliances and sophisticated home decor. Notably, its Fine Pearl Collection stands out as the world’s only dinner set made from genuine pearls, showcasing Karaca’s dedication to unparalleled design and craftsmanship.

Embarking on Global Market Expansion

Karaca’s presence stretches across 48 countries with 305 retail locations and over 2,000 sales points, affirming its lasting legacy and widespread popularity. The company’s foray into the UK market represents a strategic endeavour to solidify its standing as a global market leader.

Cihangir Çetintırnak, Country Director of Karaca UK, stated, “After a solid history of 50 years, our vision is to establish ourselves as one of the top three brands in our category not just in Europe and America, but across the world. The opening of our second store in Westfield London, is a crucial milestone in achieving our 2030 vision. Following the success of our Islington Square store and our growing presence in the UK e-commerce market, we are enthusiastic about using the UK market as a springboard for expanding our global presence.”

Enhancing UK-Türkiye Economic Relations for a New Economic Partnership

Karaca’s expansion in the UK is in sync with the growing trade relations between the United Kingdom and Türkiye. The UK government has recently initiated a consultation to establish a new, updated free trade agreement (FTA) with Türkiye. This FTA seeks to replace the existing agreement, rooted in outdated 1990s provisions and limited to goods trading.

The proposed FTA aims to be more comprehensive, including sectors like technology and digital services, to better meet the demands of the 21st-century economy. The increasing trade volume, reaching £26 billion in the year leading up to June 2023, further emphasises Türkiye’s status as a top 20 trading partner for the UK.

Karaca’s expansion in the UK market mirrors this burgeoning economic relationship. The revised FTA is expected to generate more opportunities for Turkish businesses to establish and grow their presence in London and across the UK, fostering a dynamic business environment and promoting cultural exchange.
