Alec Baldwin, Broken And With Psychological Help After Accidentally Killing A Partner

On Thursday there was a tragic accident that shocked the entire film industry. Actor Alec Baldwin accidentally killed the cinematographer of the film they were shooting by firing a prop pistol, which was supposedly a blank, and was loaded with real bullets. After the event, the actor, totally broken, is in need of help from a team of psychologists.

In addition to the deceased woman , identified as Halyna Hutchins (42 years old), the shots also wounded the film’s director, Joel Souza, 48 (below, in a file image) who was transferred to the intensive care unit of the Christus St. Vincent medical center near Santa Fe. Filming has been suspended until November.

At the moment, Baldwin has not commented on the matter. The only movement that has been observed is the elimination of a photograph that he himself had shared on networks hours before the dramatic event took place. In the snapshot, the actor was seen wearing the clothes from the set and the shirt with a blood stain. Along with it, he wrote: “Back to the office. Wow, it’s exhausting.”

After the accident, some images were published where the actor could be seen talking on the phone in a great state of nervousness. It was just the moment he learned the news of the passing of Halyna Hutchins, the film’s cinematographer.

Alec Baldwin shot the cinematographer, who was rushed to the emergency room in a helicopter after being injured, but ended up dying at the University of New Mexico Hospital in Albuquerque. Joel Souz (48) was also transferred to the Intensive Care Unit of the Christus St. Vincent medical center in the vicinity of Santa Fe, in the state of New Mexico in the United States.

Questioned about the event
Photographs published by the local Santa Fe New Mexican newspaper show Baldwin in anguish at the door of the Santa Fe Sheriff’s office, where he was questioned about the event.

The accident happened around two in the afternoon at the Bonanza Creek Ranch, where several scenes of the ‘western’ “Rust” were filmed, in which Baldwin is a producer as well as a protagonist. “According to investigators, it appears that the filmed scene involved the use of a prop weapon when it was fired,” Juan Ríos from the police office told the local press. Baldwin plays Harland Rust, an outlaw whose grandson is charged with murder in the film.

Open investigation
The Sheriff’s office has opened an investigation to clarify what happened and what type of projectile the weapon had, which is not known if it was used during the recording of a scene or in a rehearsal. “How and what type of projectile was fired is being investigated. The incident remains an active investigation,” the department explained in a statement. For the time being, authorities are ruling out bringing charges against Baldwin.

The cinematographers’ union (International Cinematographers Guild) has issued a statement about the fatality of the event. “We received the devastating news that one of our members, Halyna Hutchins, director of photography for a production called ‘Rust’ in New Mexico, has died from injuries sustained on set,” said John Lindley, president of the union.
