Waracle, one of the UK’s leading digital project consultancies, has announced the acquisition of HackSoft, a Sofia-based software development business. The deal marks a major step in Waracle’s growth strategy, representing the company’s first move beyond the UK.
The acquisition gives Waracle a strong base in one of Europe’s most dynamic tech hubs, expanding its access to high-quality talent and strengthening its capacity to deliver innovative digital solutions for an increasingly international client portfolio.
HackSoft adds significant expertise in product development, web engineering and data services, complementing Waracle’s established capabilities across financial services, energy, healthcare and the public sector.
Founded in 2017, HackSoft has grown to a team of 55 and is known for its engineering excellence, strong culture and holistic approach to building quality software.
The announcement comes at the end of a highly transformative year for Waracle, backed by growth capital investor BGF. In 2025, the consultancy expanded its UK workforce to 210 employees across offices in London, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Dundee.
David Tuck, Waracle CEO, said: “Our growth plans are ambitious and a key part of our strategy has been to find a talented team with technical capabilities that complement our own.
“We worked with Hacksoft for several months on a strategic client engagement, so we know first-hand our cultures align – we share similar values based on fostering a strong, inclusive culture and are both committed to being a trusted partner for our clients.
“HackSoft’s culture, technical talent, commitment to open source, and its impressive track record with its training academy makes it a fantastic addition to the Waracle team.”
Radoslav Georgiev, HackSoft co-founder and CEO, commented: “Joining Waracle is an incredible opportunity for the HackSoft team. We have always aimed to be more than just developers; we strive to be true partners in our clients’ success. In Waracle, we have found a partner that not only shares our vision but can also provide a platform for greater growth and more complex, exciting challenges for our team. We are thrilled to begin this next chapter and expand our impact together.”
Mike Wharton, CTO and Founder at Waracle, said: “Waracle has been about doing great work with great people since day one. Working with HackSoft has been exceptional; they’re a dedicated team of talented engineers who truly care about their craft and their people. It’s a natural fit and a huge win for both our teams and our clients.”
