Farrer & Co, a leading independent UK law firm, has advised James Hambro & Partners (JH&P) on a minority equity investment by Bixby Wealth Solutions, part of the Texas-based Moontower Group.
The transaction includes Bixby acquiring equity from JH&P’s external shareholders and select founding-generation partners, alongside a direct capital injection into the business.
This strategic investment aims to broaden equity participation among current and future partners, support the firm’s long-term independence, and reinforce its commitment to attracting and retaining top-tier talent.
The deal, which has now received regulatory approval, marks a significant milestone in JH&P’s strategic growth journey.
The Farrer & Co team was led by corporate partner Jonathan Haley, supported by Senior Counsel Emily Jamieson and Associate Tom Warburton, with specialist regulatory advice provided by Partner Jessica Reed and Associate Edward Twigger. Spencer House Partners provided Corporate Finance advice.
Jonathan Haley, Partner at Farrer & Co, commented:
“We are delighted to have supported James Hambro & Partners on this important transaction, which reflects both their forward-looking ambition and their commitment to preserving the qualities that underpin their success. The deal’s complexity drew directly on our specialist expertise across financial services, LLP structures and corporate transactions.”
This transaction highlights Farrer & Co’s significant experience advising on complex, multi-stakeholder investments in the wealth management sector and more broadly across the Financial Services sector.
