NatWest has announced two key appointments within its newly established Venture Banking team, reinforcing its support for innovative and high-growth businesses across the UK. Greg Brown joins as Head of Venture Capital Coverage, while Kim Martin takes on the role of Head of Venture & Growth Finance.
Greg Brown joins NatWest from HSBC Innovation Banking, where he held the position of Managing Director and Head of Investor Coverage. In that role, he oversaw relationships with prominent venture and growth investors across the UK and Europe. With more than 17 years of experience spanning public and private markets, Greg brings extensive expertise in originating and executing complex transactions for investors, corporates, and financial sponsors. His previous career includes senior positions at SVB UK, HSBC UK, and Lloyds Banking Group.

Kim Martin also brings considerable experience to her new role, joining from Boost&Co Ltd, part of the Growth Lending Group, where she served as Managing Director of Origination and led the UK investment team. With over 18 years’ experience in SME financing across a range of asset classes – including venture capital and private credit – Kim has developed a deep understanding of the UK’s SME landscape.
Both Greg and Kim will report to Jenny Edwards, who joined NatWest earlier this year to lead the bank’s high-growth sector strategy. As Head of NatWest Venture Banking, Jenny is leading efforts to deliver tailored financial solutions, strategic insight, and ecosystem connectivity for the UK’s most innovative venture-backed scaleups.
